575 – Dawud ibn ʿAmr narrated to us; Dawud ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman narrated to us; from ʿAbdullah ibn ʿUthman ibn Khuthaym; from Shahr ibn Hawshab; from Asmaʾ bint Yazid, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed the people and declared, “Every lie uttered by the child of Adam is recorded against him, except in three cases: a man who lies to his wife in order to please her; a man who speaks between two people to reconcile them; and a man who lies as part of war strategy.”
