559 – Abu Khaythamah narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from Hisham ibn ʿUrwah, from his father, from ʿAʾishah, who said:

“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married me when I was seven years old, and he consummated the marriage with me when I was nine. I used to play with the banāt (dolls) in his house, and some young girls would come to visit me. Whenever they saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ they would withdraw—meaning they would hide themselves—but he would send them back, so they came in to me and played along with me.”
