543 – Al-Walīd ibn Shujāʿ narrated to us; ʿAmmār ibn Muḥammad narrated to me, from al-Aʿmash, on the verse in which Allah says, “And tell the believing women to lower their gazes” (Quran 24:31). He explained: that is, they are to refrain from looking at anyone other than their husbands.
