535 – Abū Khaythamah narrated to us; Muʿādh ibn Hishām narrated to us; his father narrated to us, from al-Qāsim ibn ʿAwf—a man of Kūfa from the clan of Banū Murrah ibn Hammām— from ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn Abī Laylā, from his father, from Muʿādh ibn Jabal, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared, “If I were going to command anyone to prostrate before another, I would have ordered a wife to prostrate to her husband, because of the greatness of the right he holds over her. No woman will truly taste the sweetness of faith until she has fulfilled her husband’s right—even if he were to ask her for herself while she is seated on the saddle of a camel.”
