527 – Saʿīd ibn Sulaymān narrated to us; Khalaf ibn Khalīfah narrated to us, from Ḥafṣ, from Anas ibn Mālik, who said: The Messenger of Allah—peace and blessings be upon him—said, “If it were permissible for one human being to prostrate before another, I would have commanded the wife to prostrate to her husband. By Him in whose hand is my soul, were he covered, from the crown to the parting of his head, with an ulcer that burst forth with pus and discharge, and she then came and licked it clean, she would still not have fulfilled his right.”
