506 – Khalaf ibn Hisham narrated to us; Abū al-Ahwaṣ narrated to us, from Ādam ibn ʿAlī, who said: “I heard ʿUmar say, ‘Whatever a man spends on himself and his family, he will surely be rewarded for it. Let him begin with those who are under his care, then the next of kin and then those more distant; and if anything remains, let him give from that surplus.’”
