504 – My father—may Allah have mercy on him—said: "Abū Muʿāwiyah narrated to us, from ʿUbayd ibn al-Ḥasan, from ʿAbd Allāh ibn Mughaffal, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared, ‘A man’s spending on his family is an act of charity.’"
