501 – ʿAli ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; Shuʿbah narrated to us, from ʿAdiyy ibn Thābit, who said: I heard ʿAbd Allah ibn Yazīd al-Anṣārī relating from Abu Masʿūd al-Anṣārī. Shuʿbah said, “I asked, ‘Is this on the authority of the Prophet ﷺ?’ He replied, ‘On the authority of the Prophet ﷺ.’ He said: ‘When a Muslim spends on his family while seeking Allah’s reward, that expenditure is counted for him as charity.’
