488 – ‘Abd al-Rahmān ibn Ṣāliḥ transmitted to us; Yaḥyā ibn Zakarīyā ibn Abī Zā’idah narrated to us, from Hishām ibn ‘Urwah, from his father, from ‘Abd Allāh ibn Zam‘ah, who said:

I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ giving a sermon in which he exhorted the people and spoke about women, saying: “How can any one of you flog his wife as a slave is flogged and then lie with her later that very same day?”
