454 – al-Ḥasan ibn al-Ṣabbāḥ narrated to me; Muḥammad ibn Kathīr narrated to us, from Muḥammad al-Aqʿaṣ, who said:
A man asked Ṭāwūs, “I wish to marry—advise me.” He replied, “If you feel no desire for women and have no fear for yourself, that will give you greater peace of mind and lighten your worries, so do not marry. But if you do desire women and fear for your own soul, then without delay—without delay!”
