430 – Yaḥyā b. Ayyūb narrated to us; Ismāʿīl b. Jaʿfar narrated; al-ʿAlāʾ informed me, from his father, from Abū Hurayrah, who traced it back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “When the son of Adam dies, all his deeds cease except for three: an ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), knowledge from which people continue to benefit, or a righteous child who prays for him.”
