427 – Yūsuf b. Mūsā narrated to us; ʿAbd al-Malik b. Hārūn b. ʿAntarah narrated, from his father, from his grandfather, from Ibn ʿAbbās regarding the Almighty’s words, “and those who say, ‘Our Lord, grant us, from our spouses and our offspring, a comfort to our eyes’” (Q 25:74). He said: “Indeed, the comfort to one’s eyes is not that they see the child healthy and handsome; rather, it is that they behold him obedient to Allah, Mighty and Majestic.”
