- Through the same chain he said: I heard Saʿid ibn Jubayr state, “No funeral prayer is to be offered for a very young child.” ʿAmr added, “I mentioned that to Ibn Abi Layla, and he said, “I caught up with the last of the Ansar; they used to perform the funeral prayer over the stillborn among their children right there in their gatherings.”
٤١٩ - وَبِهِ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، يَقُولُ: لَا يُصَلَّى عَلَى الصَّبِيِّ الصَّغِيرِ قَالَ عَمْرٌو: فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِابْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى فَقَالَ: لَقَدْ أَدْرَكْتُ بَقَايَا الْأَنْصَارِ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى السِّقْطِ مِنْ صِبْيَانِهِمْ فِي مَجَالِسِهِمْ
