- Abu Kurayb narrated to us; ‘Ubayd ibn Muhammad narrated to us; Ḥabbān ibn Mūsā al-Tamīmī narrated to us, from Abū al-Zubayr, from Jābir, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “If the newborn lets out a cry, he is entitled to inherit.” ⦗595⦘
I also preserved from Abū al-Zubayr the wording, “and the funeral prayer is offered for him,” but his fellow narrators said that this phrase is not part of the ḥadīth.
٤١٣ - حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ مُوسَى التَّمِيمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «إِذَا اسْتَهَلَّ الْمَوْلُودُ وُرِّثَ» ⦗٥٩٥⦘ وَحَفِظْتُ مِنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ «وَصُلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ» وَلَكِنَّ أَصْحَابَهُ قَالُوا: لَيْسَ هُوَ فِي الْحَدِيثِ
