408 – Fudayl narrated to us; Muhammad ibn Yazid narrated to us, from Juwaybir, from al-Dahhak, on Allah’s words, “and let them draw their head-covers over their bosoms” (Qur’an 24:31). He explained: She is to veil her chest with her khimar. Concerning His words, “and let them not strike their feet” (Qur’an 24:31), he said: She passes by a gathering and strikes one anklet against the other so that people will know she is wearing two anklets.
