395 – Al-Qāsim ibn Hāshim narrated to us; Jaʿfar ibn Ṣubayḥ al-Qurashī, the muezzin of the mosque of Hims, narrated to us; Talḥah ibn ʿAmr narrated to us, from ʿAṭāʾ, that the Prophet ﷺ said to one of his Companions:

“Have you fasted today and given charity?”

He replied. The Prophet then said, “Stand up, go to your wife, and have marital relations with her, for what you give her in that way counts as charity from you to her.” This occurred on a Friday.
