393 – Ishaq ibn Isma‘il narrated to us; Jarir narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from ‘Amr ibn Murrah, from Abu’l-Bakhtari, from Abu Dharr, who reported that the Prophet ﷺ said: “Your intercourse with your wife is an act of charity.” I asked, “Messenger of Allah, does one of us fulfill his desire and still earn a reward?” He replied, “Tell me: if he were to place it in a forbidden manner, would he not incur a sin?” I said, “Indeed.” He said, “Then you count the evil deed but refuse to count the good one?”
