391 – Khalid ibn Khidāsh narrated to us; Mahdī ibn Maymūn narrated to us; from Wāṣil, the freedman of Abū ʿUyaynah; from Yaḥyā ibn ʿAqīl; from Yaḥyā ibn Yaʿmar; from Abū al-Aswad al-Duʾalī; from Abū Dharr, who related that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

“In the marital intimacy of any one of you there is a charitable deed.”

They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, can one of us fulfill his desire with his wife and still receive a reward for it?”

He replied, “Tell me: if he were to satisfy that desire in a forbidden way, would he not incur sin? In the same way, when he satisfies it lawfully, he receives a reward.”
