388 – Abu Khaythama narrated to us; Yaʿqūb ibn Ibrāhīm narrated to us; his father narrated from his father, the paternal uncle of al-Ahnaf, who said:

A poor woman came to ʿĀʾishah bringing her two young sons. ʿĀʾishah gave her three dates. The woman gave a date to each child, then she split the third date in half and shared it between them. When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) arrived and she told him what had happened, he said, “How extraordinary! On account of that deed Allah has admitted her to Paradise.”
