- Shujaʿ ibn al-Ashras narrated to us; Layth ibn Saʿd narrated to us; from Ibn Shihab; from Muhammad ibn al-Nuʿman and Humayd ibn ʿAbd al-Rahman, that Bashir ibn Saʿd brought al-Nuʿman ibn Bashir to the Messenger of Allah—may Allah bless him and grant him peace—and said, “I have given this slave to my son.” The Messenger of Allah asked, “Have you given the same to each of your children?” He replied, “No.” He said, “Then take it back.”
٣٨ - حَدَّثَنَا شُجَاعُ بْنُ الْأَشْرَسِ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ، وَحُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّ بَشِيرَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ جَاءَ بِالنُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ إِلَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ: إِنِّي نَحَلْتُ ابْنِي هَذَا الْعَبْدَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «وَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَ؟» قَالَ: لَا قَالَ: «فَارْدُدْهُ»
