Al-Nafaqa 'ala al-'IyalIbn Abi al-Dunya

364 – Suwayd ibn Saʿīd narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Yazīd al-Muqriʾ narrated to me; from Abū Maʿmar, from Bakr ibn ʿAbd Allah, who said:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, “Whoever is granted a blessing and its effects are evident upon him is called ‘Allah’s beloved,’ for he proclaims Allah’s favor; but whoever is granted a blessing and no trace of it is seen on him is called ‘Allah’s detested,’ for he shows hostility toward Allah’s favor.”
