333 – My father narrated to me; Abū al-Naḍr Hāshim ibn al-Qāsim narrated to us; al-Walīd ibn Jamīl, Abū al-Ḥajjāj al-Yamāmī, narrated to us, from Yaḥyā ibn Abī Kathīr, from al-Ḥasan, who said:
“Whoever has an inner admonisher has, from Allah, a protector. May Allah show mercy to the one who admonishes his own soul and his family, saying: ‘My household! guard your prayer, guard your prayer; your zakah, your zakah; your neighbours, your neighbours; your poor, your poor—so that Allah may have mercy on you on the Day of Resurrection.’ For Allah, exalted is He, praised a servant who lived in this manner, saying: ‘He used to enjoin upon his family prayer and zakah, and he was pleasing to his Lord’ (Maryam 55).”
