318 – Bishr ibn Muʿādh al-ʿAqadī narrated to me; Abū ʿUmārah al-Rāzī narrated to us; Yūnus narrated to us. He said: A son of ʿAbd Allāh ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Abī al-Ḥasan became proficient, whereupon ʿAbd Allāh said, “So-and-so has mastered his studies.” Al-Ḥasan commented, “In earlier days, when a boy reached that level, they would slaughter a camel and prepare a feast for the people.”
