314 – Ishaq ibn Ibrahim al-Bahili, known as al-Sawwaf, narrated to us; Abd al-Jabbar, Abu Khubayb al-Karabisi, narrated to us. He said:
“One of Ayyub al-Sakhtiyani’s sons was studying with us in the Qur’anic elementary school. When the boy had mastered his lessons, we went to their house. A pulpit was set up for him, and he mounted it to deliver a sermon, while people were snatching up walnuts all around us. Ayyub stood at the door saying to us, ‘Come in; this gathering is reserved especially for us.’”
