310 – Muḥammad ibn Idrīs narrated to me; he had been informed by Marwān ibn Muḥammad. Rifdah ibn Quḍāʿah al-Ghassānī told us, “I heard Thābit ibn al-ʿAjlān say: ‘Indeed, Allah is poised to punish the inhabitants of the earth, but when He hears the voices of children learning the Wisdom, He turns that punishment away from them.’ Marwān explained, ‘The Wisdom means the Quran.’”
