288 – Hamzah ibn al-ʿAbbās narrated to us; ʿAbdān ibn ʿUthmān narrated to us; Ibn al-Mubārak narrated to us; Maʿmar narrated to us; Abū ʿAmr al-Nadabī—Bishr ibn Ḥarb—narrated to me: I went out with Ibn ʿUmar to the marketplace, and he would not pass by anyone, young or old, without greeting him, saying, “as-salāmu ʿalaykum (peace be upon you), as-salāmu ʿalaykum (peace be upon you).”
