265 – Al-ʿAbbās ibn Hishām narrated to me, from his father, who said: “Umm al-Faḍl daughter of al-ʿAbbās would rock little al-Faḍl and chant:
‘I would mourn my own soul, and mourn my firstborn as well,
If he should fail to rule Fihr—or any besides Fihr—
By noble pedigree, lofty honor, and unstinting generosity.’”
