261 – Isḥāq related to us; Sufyān related, from Ibn al-Munkadir: A woman once came to the Prophet ﷺ but could not find any place to sit. A man therefore rose from his seat, whereupon she came forward and sat there. The Prophet ﷺ asked him, “Is she your mother?” He said, “No.” He asked, “Your sister?” He said, “No.” He then said, “Since you showed compassion to her, may Allah show compassion to you—since you showed compassion to her, may Allah show compassion to you.”
