254 – ʿAlī ibn al-Jaʿd narrated to us; he said: ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Abī Salamah al-Mājishūn narrated to us, from his uncle, that Usāmah ibn Zayd was with ʿĀʾishah (Allah be pleased with her) while he was suffering from ramad (an eye infection). She began washing the discharge from his eyes. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “You are certainly clearing it away for him.” He then took the boy, placed his tongue on his eyes, and went on removing the rheum that had gathered there.
