Al-Nafaqa 'ala al-'IyalIbn Abi al-Dunya

229 – Muhammad ibn Idris narrated to me; Ibrahim ibn Musa narrated to us; Yahya ibn Zakariyya ibn Abi Za’idah narrated to us, from Mujalid, from al-Shaʿbi, from Masruq, from ʿAʾishah—may Allah be pleased with her—who said:
“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said to me, ‘Wash Usamah’s face.’ While I was cleaning it he looked at me, tapped my hand, then took the child, washed his face himself, kissed him, and said, ‘Allah has been gracious to us in that Usamah was not a girl.’”
