228 – ʿUthmān ibn Abī Shaybah narrated to us; Shurayk narrated to us, from al-ʿAbbās ibn Dhurayḥ, from al-Bahī, from ʿĀʾishah, who said: “Usāmah tripped over the threshold and cut his face. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, ‘Remove the harm from him.’ I found it distasteful, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, began to suck the wound and spit out the blood. He then said, ‘Had Usāmah been a girl, we would have adorned and clothed him until everyone coveted him.’”
