223 – Ishāq ibn Ismāʿīl—and several others—narrated to us; they said: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from al-Zuhrī, from Abū Salamah, from Abū Hurayrah, who said:

Al-Aqraʿ ibn Ḥābis saw the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, kissing Ḥusayn and remarked, “I have ten children and I have never kissed any of them.” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, replied, “Whoever does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.”
