222 – Khālid ibn Khidāsh narrated to us; Mahdī ibn Maymūn narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Yaʿqūb, from Ibn Abī Nuʿm, who said:
“I was sitting with Ibn ʿUmar when a man asked him about the blood of a gnat. Ibn ʿUmar asked, ‘Where are you from?’ He replied, ‘From Iraq.’ Ibn ʿUmar then exclaimed, ‘Look at this man! He asks me about the blood of a gnat while they have killed the grandson of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “These two sons of mine are my fragrant blossoms from this world.”’”}
