Al-Nafaqa 'ala al-'IyalIbn Abi al-Dunya

213 – Al-Zubayr ibn Abi Bakr al-Zubayri narrated to us; Sufyan ibn ʿUyaynah narrated to me; from ʿUbayd Allah ibn Abi Yazid; from Nafiʿ ibn Jubayr; from Abu Hurayrah, who said:

“The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went out and I accompanied him until we reached the marketplace of Banu Qaynuqaʿ. He then turned back and entered the house of ʿAʾishah. He said, ‘Is the lukaʿ here?’—meaning al-Husayn. I thought his mother had kept him back to wash him or to dress him with a sikhāb (a necklace of scented beads). It was not long before he came running, and each of the two embraced the other. The Prophet then said, ‘O Allah, I love him, so love him and love those who love him.’”
