212 – ʿAbd al-Rahman ibn Salih narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak narrated to us, from ʿAbd Allah ibn ʿAwn, from ʿUmayr ibn Ishaq, who said: “I saw Abu Hurayrah say to al-Hasan ibn ʿAli, ‘Show me the spot where the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, kissed you.’ So he uncovered his navel for him.” ʿAbd al-Rahman added: Sharik commented, “Had the navel been part of the ʿawrah (area that must be covered), he would not have exposed it to him.”
