207 – Ahmad ibn ʿAbd al-Aʿlā al-Shaybānī narrated to me; Rizam Abū Muḥammad al-Tamīmī—who was one of the Qur’an reciters—narrated to us; from al-Ḥasan ibn Dīnār; from al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī, who said:

He was asked, “Where are the children of the polytheists?” He replied, “In Paradise.”

He was then asked, “On whose authority do you state this?” He answered, “I say it on the authority of Allah. Allah, exalted is He, says: ‘None shall burn in it except the most wretched—he who denied and turned away’ (al-Layl 92:16); and this child neither denied nor turned away.”
