197 – ʿUmar ibn Bukayr related to me, Ismāʿīl ibn ʿAyyāsh narrated to us, from Muḥammad ibn Ziyād al-Alhānī, from Muḥammad ibn Kaʿb al-Quraẓī, who said:

They were sitting with the Prophet ﷺ when a man came in and whispered something to another man. The Prophet ﷺ asked, “Did he just tell you that a baby boy has been born to you?” He replied, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet ﷺ said, “Be aware: if he lives, he will put you to trial, and if he dies, he will cause you sorrow.”
