195 – Sulaymān ibn Abī Shaykh al-Aʿrābī recited to me:
Life has grown dearer to me because of my two small sons who cling to my sides;
Whenever they ask for food, it is only with tears,
And when they plead for water, they are powerless to give me any.
١٩٥ - وَأَنْشَدَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْخٍ الْأَعْرَابِيُّ:
[البحر الوافر]
لَقَدْ زَادَ الْحَيَاةَ إِلَيَّ حُبًّا ... بُنَيَّايَ اللَّذَانِ تَكَنَّفَانِي
إِذَا مَا اسْتَطْعَمَا إِلَّا بُكَاءً ... وَإِنْ يَسْتَسْقِيَا لَا يُسْقَيَانِي
