18 – Aḥmad b. Jamīl narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah b. al-Mubārak narrated to us; Yūnus informed us, from al-Zuhrī, who reported: Saʿīd b. al-Musayyib told me that he heard Abū Hurayrah say: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The best charity is that which still leaves the giver self-sufficient. Begin with those you maintain.”
