171 – Ahmad ibn Jamil narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn al-Mubarak informed us; Sufyan conveyed it, saying: “It was commonly said: A child’s right over his father is that he choose a noble name for him, marry him off once he comes of age, take him on pilgrimage, and cultivate his proper manners.”
