162 – Muhammad ibn Yazid al-ʿIjli related to us, saying: I heard Yahya ibn Yaman recount, “I travelled to Mecca, and Saʿid ibn Sufyan said to me, ‘Convey my greetings to my father and tell him, “Come ahead.”’ When I arrived, Sufyan met me in Mecca and asked, ‘How is Saʿid?’ I replied, ‘He is well, and he says to you, “Come.”’ Sufyan thereupon made preparations to set out and remarked, ‘They were only called the abrar (the truly righteous) because they were dutiful to both parents and children.’”
