156 – Al-Ḥusayn ibn ʿAbd al-Raḥmān narrated to me; Muḥammad ibn Masʿada al-Baṣrī related the following:
“Jaʿfar ibn Muḥammad had a son for whom he felt the most intense love. Someone asked him, ‘To what extent do you love him?’ He replied, ‘I would not wish to have another son, for that would compel me to divide with him the love I now give entirely to this one.’”
