146 – Abu ʿAbd al-Rahman al-Qurashi narrated to us; Khalid b. Saʿid b. ʿAmr b. Saʿid b. al-ʿAs narrated to me, from his father, who said: ʿUmar b. al-Khattab said, “There is no household, wealth, or child regarding which I would not wish to say inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajiʿun (Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return), except for ʿAbd Allah b. ʿUmar—for I hope that he will remain among the people after I am gone.”
