134 – Qasim ibn Hashim narrated to me; Ali ibn ʿAyyash narrated to us; al-ʿAttaf ibn Khalid narrated to us, from ʿAbd al-ʿAziz ibn Qurayb, who said:

A man said to al-Ahnaf ibn Qays, “Abu Bahr, I have never seen anyone more deliberate than you.” He replied, “Know that I am swift in three matters: when the prayer time comes, I hurry to perform it; when a funeral is present, I hasten to lay it in its grave; and when an unmarried woman receives a proposal, I rush to marry her off.”
