133 – My father narrated to us; al-Asmaʿī informed us; Abu al-Ashhab informed us. He said: al-Ahnaf ibn Qays remarked, “A snake rubbing itself in the corner of my house is dearer to me than a single woman for whom I have turned away a fitting suitor.”
