121 – Ishaq narrated to us; al-Aswad ibn ʿAmir informed us; he said: I heard al-Hasan ibn Salih say: “I asked Ibn Abi Layla about suitability (kufʾ) for marriage. He replied, ‘Suitability is in religious commitment and social standing.’ I said to him, ‘Do you mean wealth as well?’ He answered, ‘No.’”
