117 – Ishaq ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; Hatim ibn Ismaʿil narrated to us; ʿAbd Allah ibn Hurmuz al-Fadaki narrated to us, from Muhammad and Saʿid, the two sons of ʿUbayd, from Abu Hatim al-Muzani, who said:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “When someone whose religious commitment and character you find acceptable comes to you seeking marriage, then marry [your daughter] to him. If you fail to do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption.”
They asked, “O Messenger of Allah, even if he … ⦗265⦘?” He replied, “When someone whose religion and character you approve of comes to you seeking marriage, then marry [your daughter] to him. If you do not, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption.” He repeated this three times.
