Ahmad ibn Ibrahim narrated to us; Najdah ibn al-Mubarak al-Sulami narrated to us; he said: I heard Malik ibn Mighwal say: Talhah al-Yami used to declare, “If only they had been cut off right here—meaning his hands at the elbows—and that I had never attended the affair of al-Jamajim.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا نَجْدَةُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ السُّلَمِيُّ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ مِغْوَلٍ، قَالَ: كَانَ طَلْحَةُ الْيَامِيُّ، يَقُولُ: «لَيْتَ أَنَّهَا قُطِعَتْ مِنْ هَا هُنَا - يَعْنِي يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ - وَأَنِّي لَمْ أَكُنْ شَهِدْتُ الْجَمَاجِمَ»
