Mahdi ibn Hafs narrated to us; Sufyan narrated to us, from Malik ibn Mighwal, who said: ʿUmar—may Allah be pleased with him—declared, “I would love to be nothing more than a single hair on the chest of Abu Bakr—may Allah be pleased with him.”
