80 – Muḥammad ibn ʿAlī ibn al-Ḥasan ibn Shaqīq narrated to us; Ibrāhīm ibn al-Ashʿath narrated to us; he said, “I heard Fuḍayl ibn ʿIyāḍ relate that Ziyād ibn Abī Ziyād said:

‘My food in this world amounts to no more than half a mudd each day; my clothing is only what covers my nakedness; my house is merely whatever roof shelters my head. By Allah, I would count it a blessing if that were enough for Him to spare me the reckoning of the Hereafter and save me from the torment of the Fire.’”
